Fresh Pellets drop into the Finishing Machine

Enviro Energy LLC was featured in an article titled “Area homeowners turn to energy alternatives” in October 10th’s edition of the Daily Star.

‘Basically, we buy overgrown fields. We particularly like goldenrod. We buy this from the farmers,’ May Miller said. ‘It gives them a little niche market for crops they couldn’t sell before. They bring it right to us.’

The crops are then converted into grass pellets, which can be burned in pellet stoves. According to the Millers, the stoves are very “green” in addition to being cost-efficient…”

  Enviro Energy LLC is a newly formed business, started for the purpose of making fuel pellets. It is owned and operated by a life-long Delaware County dairy farming couple along with their son and his wife.

• Green Renewable Energy

  Grass pellets have almost the same BTUs per pound as wood pellets, without ever cutting a tree. Grass crops grown for fuel are not harvested until August. Woody, mature stems make the best pellets. Cutting this late in the summer virtually eliminates wildlife damage as song birds and turkeys are through nesting and fawns are up and away. This permanent sod cover is excellent erosion control and maintains the combination of woods and green open space that makes this area so desirable to wildlife and humans alike.

  We at Enviro Energy LLC are excited to work with landowners and farmers in our area to bring our grass pellets to market! We can work together by purchasing a product that may be growing right out your door. Enviro Energy needs very poor quality, AUGUST cut hay! Weeds, briars, and small brush actually make your hay better for us. If it gets rained on, so much the better. The hay should be dry enough when it is baled, to store without molding, just like any other baled hay.
